Child-inclusive wedding

Children are important in our lives and are often a big part of the commitment to marriage. They can greatly enhance the sentiments and meaningfulness of a wedding ceremony. Occasionally, a child or children can create a few unwanted dramas, which can overtake the magical moments. However, with forward planning and the children participating in the rehearsal, a positive, happy outcome can usually be achieved.

When you are making a decision on whether or not to include children as part of your ceremony, there are several key factors to look at such as the children’s ages and personalities and the (real) reasons why you are considering including them.

If they are your own children, the ceremony is the ideal time to honour the bond between you all. It is in most instances, important to include them and make them feel a part of the ceremony and therefore, part of the marriage itself. This can be done in many ways and I would be pleased to talk with you about this, and to give you some suggestions and ideas on how to achieve this in a happy, inclusive way.

Whatever the reason you decide to have children participate in what is probably one of the most important days of your life, I will help you achieve a happy, meaningful ceremony that not only celebrates your marriage, but also honours and respects your family or your friendship with the child/ren.

Todd and Amelia combined their son's naming ceremony and their wedding ceremony for a true celebration of family ceremony created and officiated by Julie Dober Ballarat Marriage Celebrant

Todd and I would like to say a HUGE Thank You to you Julie, for making our Wedding and son's Naming Ceremony such a wonderful day.  The personalised Wedding and Naming Ceremony were so carefully planned and written, with everything carefully detailed and choreographed. Julie you are an absolute professional and such a pleasure to deal with. You took every aspect of our family life into consideration and used it to make our special day truly amazing and you involved everyone so it was a lovely family event.  You worked with our daughter so well and made her feel very special and explained everything she had to do to, in a language that she understood, and this care took all her nerves away!  You were also very patient with our one year old boy who was a bit grumpy during the wedding! The combined Celebration of Family Wedding Ceremony was an absolute pleasure and I highly recommend Julie to anyone and everyone!  She just takes everything in her stride and takes all the drama and stress away!!! Thanks for such a lovely and memorable day.
Todd and Amelia.

Julie, Just wanted to send a massive thank you to you for all of your assistance and patience regarding our wedding.  Everyone commented that it was either the best or one of the best weddings that they had attended. We are ever so grateful for the respect, dignity, professionalism and humour you delivered during the ceremony. You truly enabled a beautiful moment to take place in our lives and captured the perfect timing and words with Ashlee's inclusion during the ceremony (on which many people tearfully, and joyfully, commented on). Once again thanks for everything Julie! Jackie and Justin xoxo
